Youth For Christ has a new ministry name "Ride By Faith", started by Angela Joy Penner. This ministry will involve horses and volunteer mentors to work with "at risk"grade school children. Angela has worked at a year around camp in Colcord, Oklahoma the past 5 years doing this very thing, and knows it is a very good way to help youngsters. Most children love horses and at Ride By Faith they will learn how to take care of a horse by brushing it, feeding it, spending time with it and eventually being able to ride it. There are 4 horses at this starting time for the children to work with.

The horses have proven themselves over the years to be very stable and calm. The camp in Oklahoma gave 3 of them to Angela when she left to come here and start her own program. The 4th horse is Angela's horse from her college days.

The ultimate goal for Ride By Faith is to teach the children about the Lord God and his love for them, and how he can help them feel secure and cared for in a world of uncertainties.

The ground breaking was July 15, 2013!

In the above photo of the groundbreaking the board and some children are there for it. From left to right: the horse "Jesse", Angela Penner, Summer Janzen, Tim Penner, Titus Penner, Nathan Janzen holding daughter Leah, an un-named child, Kate Janzen, Evie MacInnis, un-named child, Shawn MacInnis.

They are standing in an oats field that will be harvested and then made into the arena for "Ride by Faith". This location is 4 miles north of Mountain Lake on 560? Ave.

I (Kathy, her mom) will try to keep this updated with the newsletters and any new information monthly.
